Nature, conservation and local history

Bruce Castle Museum opened as a Museum in 1906 and now houses the Borough of Haringey's local history collections and archives.

British History Online is the digital library containing some of the core printed primary and secondary sources for the medieval and modern history of the British Isles.  The website has a comprehensive history of Tottenham.

The Friends of Tottenham Marshes was set up in the summer of 2005 to act as custodians of Tottenham Marshes. Their aims are to promote the marshes as a valuable and enjoyable green space for the whole community and to protect and respect the environment and the wildlife that depends upon it.

Harris Lebus  was once one of the largest furniture manufacturers in the world based at Ferry Lane, Tottenham.

Markfield Beam Engine and Museum is housed in a Grade II listed building, the old engine house, on a six and a half acre site which was the former sewage treatment works for Tottenham and the surrounding districts.

Tottenham Civic Society was established in April 2006 following mounting public concern about inappropriate redevelopment proposals for the Tottenham High Road Historic Corridor and a desire for something better. The Society is affiliated to the Civic Trust.

Tottenham and Wood Green Friends of the Earth seeks to influence the government to make changes to policies in favour of people and planet.

Ferry Boat Inn is a popular and cosy pub which serves good food, has a real fire in winter and some pleasant outside seating areas including a garden area with views over the reservoirs.

Stansted Express is the fastest way between Stansted and Tottenham Hale.
